ATHERTON ESTATE

A grand home reimagined with warmth, humor, and heart.

  • This four-story, 14,225 square-foot Atherton estate had beautiful bones and classic architectural detailing, but the homeowners felt it lacked a sense of play and personal expression. They asked us to make it less precious. Make it feel welcoming. Make it feel like them.

Working closely with the family, we crafted a home that balances elegance with a spirited sense of wonder. Botanical patterns, layered textures, rich color stories, and thoughtfully curated details bring each room to life. The design honors the home’s classical structure while inviting in warmth, ease, and a bit of delight.

Throughout the home, we collaborated with skilled artisans to create custom pieces that feel both sculptural and deeply personal, including a 29-foot porcelain and bronze chandelier that cascades through the stairwell and hand-crafted furniture from local makers. These pieces help weave together a narrative that is refined, expressive, and uniquely reflective of the family.

The result is a modern interpretation of a traditional estate. A home meant for gatherings, music, laughter, long meals, late conversations, and everyday living. A home that holds beauty, but never takes itself too seriously.
