TILE TRANSFORMATIONS

Today we take you behind the scenes to share some of the amazing possibilities of TILE! At the LOCZIdesign group, some of our favorite transformation stories feature this adaptive material.

Our partners at Global Tile Design, Heath and Fireclay have often been involved in our design projects with their collaborative approach and consistently high quality.

We love shifting up the expectations of what tile can do to transform a space. By changing up the patterns we are using to seeing, suddenly things take on a whole new light.

Inspiration can come from anywhere, as indicated by the inspiration of the fireplace shown below. It's amazing what can happen when we think outside the box.

The tile for this fireplace was inspired by the razor clam dress by the uber talented Alexander McQueen.

The tile below chosen for a bathroom, is a custom blend by Fireclay.  Tone-on-tone textures creates a subtle yet powerful impact.

Heath tile featured both above and below, are an obvious choice when designing a mid-century space.  Note our use of the white dimensional tile showcasing the verticality of the lounge and separating the book shelf from the media area.

For this kitchen transformation we chose a tonal gray design from Fireclay for a statement backsplash.  It combines the more modern elements with the transitional shape from the kitchen cabinets.

This blue series from Heath is another favorite.  We combined it with a concrete floor to enhance the vertical space and bring to mind the feeling of being in a waterfall.

Here, we took note of the unique architecture and followed the line of the clearstory windows.  The geometric design allows this blue ceramic tile from Global tile to really sing.
